After some simple modifications to my sluice box, I am now trapping more flakes of gold from my shoreline gold claims. When working with fine flakes of gold, I have found that the standard carpet shipped with most sluice boxes is much too coarse. I expect many people end up washing most of their gold flakes right out of their sluice box. Watch this video to see how I may have solved this very common problem.

Sluice Box Review - RDH Prospecting Recirculating Power Sluice
Here is a quick overview/review of my new recirculating power sluice box by RDH Prospecting. This is a 6" x 32" model which is the perfect size for my prospecting needs. This particular sluice box was very easy to setup and comes with an 800 gph pump which provides plenty of flow to process my classified materials. I am powering this sluice with a 12v portable power unit which contains a lead rechargeable battery.
So far I am quite pleased with my purchase and I will be posting video and blog updates as my prospecting continues.
Happy prospecting!
